Oh my is it really February already! Are you enjoying a beautiful new year, I certainly hope so. Sorry for the long time away and certainly missed you much. I have been busy in my little studio creating away for the sweetest brides-to-be. I am so enjoying sharing in their excitement and it feels wonderful to play a tiny part in help making their day a special one.

The tree near my studio window is beginning to lose its pretty white winter blooms and giving way to tiny tender green leaves letting me know that spring is not too far in the future. When the winds blow, the little white flowers look like butterflies in flight, so very pretty. I am longing for spring are you.

I have had very little time for photo taking as of late. In those times, I search the web for something wonderful and certainly found it in ace clipart. It is a wonderful site and have some beautiful photos for your use. I chose the lovely butterfly photo above, pretty don't you think. I hope you take a peek. Like me you just may need them someday. :)

The tree is dressed and the excitement of Christmas is in the air. Hello all, I hope each of you are enjoying a beautiful week. It certainly is a busy time of year for so many of us. Last evening Honey and I went in search of Christmas lights. If you have followed me for sometime here on the blog, you know how much I love all those pretty twinkling colorful lights, simply wonderful! Christmas is certainly a special time of the year!

Tomorrow I will be making a trip to the market in search of some lovely red delicious apples, some for eating and some for oven drying for apple cinnamon potpourri. I missed making them last year and was determined to do so this year. Once the slow process of drying the apples is done then the real fun begins. I then add to the apples, cinnamon, apple spice potpourri oil, cinnamon sticks and a few small dried pods. Once all ingredients are added I place it all in a bag and shake shake shake afterwards placing it all in a pretty bowl. The wonderful smell of these apples certainly say Christmas and last and last. If the smell fades simply add a few drops of potpourri oil. Click here for complete instructions on drying apples. I hope you try it. :)

Honey and I jumped out of bed this morning with much anticipation of putting the turkey in the oven. It is Thanksgiving eve! I can imagine you too are making a list and checking it twice making sure you've not missed anything. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family dear friends. We have so much to be thankful for, indeed so much.

Hello to each of you! Oh I know it has been a while since I was last here and cannot believe how time simply flies. The moments have been filled with lots of little things and a few big things too. :) I hope you are enjoying the season. I tell you I am enjoying this season to its fullest. The leaves with their golden hues are beautiful as ever. Some of you may recognize the photo above. It was taken a few seasons ago and is as beautiful as ever this Autumn season. The tree stands right outside my studio window. Its leaves are beautiful and golden in Autumn, and blossoms with pretty little white blooms in the winter. Visiting Nan's lovely blog "Letters From a Hill Farm" she had the most beautiful quote of Autumn. It read "Autumn is the mellower season, and what we lose in flowers we more than gain in fruits". How true of this lovely season. If you have not visited Nan's lovely blog, I invite you to do so. There you will find a wealth of knowledge, beautiful reads and book reviews.

Winter knitting has begun as request from family and friends for warm chunky scarves are made. When it comes to knitting I love the intricate patterns, but for winter scarves I keep them simple but pretty. I have a half a dozen to be knitted in the coming weeks and expect even more request. When it comes to knitting, all I need is some sweet music, candle light and tea and I am good to go. :) I also have a lovely triangle scarf/shawl on the needles which I hope to finish not long from now. Knitting is one of those little delights that make me smile.

This feels wonderful!! Hello all! I hope each and everyone of you are enjoying a lovely week. I certainly have missed meeting you here. I thought of you often as I went busily about my work and hope you forgive me for such a long absence.

Summer is coming to a close and beautiful autumn is making her presence. Just a few days ago I shared with Honey just how much I am looking forward to our new season. Autumn is such a lovely, gentle and quiet season. I've been thinking of warm throws, hot chocolate, cookies right out of the oven, knitting and tea. :) The evenings are growing cooler with recent early mornings carrying a chill. Out for a drive a few evenings ago and I found myself reaching for a light shawl...oh yes those little signs of autumn. :)

By the way, the lovely leaves above are from a book I purchased several years ago. I wish I could show you the entire book, it is beautiful! Its actually a book for those who love to collect leaves and have lovely pages of parchment for pressing leaves right in the book. I found this beautiful book while browsing through the bargain book section at Barnes and Noble. For you book lovers, don't you just love the bargain book section! You can find some treasures there! I think I find myself spending more time there than any other part of the bookstore, I just love it!

Hello friends! How happy am I to be here! Are little signs of Autumn peaking its head in your neighborhood. I am feeling and seeing little subtle signs....cooler mornings and evenings and even a few fallen leaves. I am so ready for lovely Autumn how about you.

Do you believe that a daily practice of gratitude and thanksgiving make for a happier heart. I truly believe it does. According to "Webster Dictionary", gratitude is the state of being grateful; thankfulness.

I remember as a little girl Mom would often remind us kids to be "thankful". As a little one I really didn't comprehend the fullness of her reminder, I simply wanted what I wanted.:o) Mother knew just how fortunate we were even in mist of not having very much and reminded us kids of that fact. I now see clearly what mother was trying to teach, and presently teach the same to others. Let us not my friends forget to give thanks each and everyday for the goodness in our lives. Oh and while giving thanks, lets us not forget about the little things we sometimes take for granted...a hot cup of tea, a smile from your hubby, a warm blanket or a call from a friend. Gratitude and thanksgiving is a good thing!:o)

A big hello and hug to each and everyone of you! Is it really August already, and a full week into it at that! July simply flew by! It seems as though I looked up and August was here.:o) I guess that is a good thing...they say time flies when you are having fun. My little studio has been one busy place this summer.

I know I promised lots of photos, but I am afraid Honey or I have not picked up the camera that much in recent weeks. He has been busy studying and I have been giving my attention to the custom bridal orders due to leave the studio soon. Honey has indeed been wonderful in helping me where he can. I've even taught him how to use the paper trimmer! Once he got the hang of it, he really is quite good.:o)

I hope your summer has been a beautiful one. We have certainly been enjoying a lovely one, but so hard to believe we are almost nearing the close of another year. Is it me or did this year simply fly by. My posting will be a little less for the remainder of the summer, but I promise I will be around to visit each and everyone of you...one can never go too long without visiting a friend. Enjoy a beautiful week!

Hello to each and everyone of you! Hope you are enjoying a beautiful month of July! As many of you know I am in the middle of a little summer break, but had to take a moment to say hello!

Things are moving along just beautifully. This break is about rest and catching up on all those little projects that needed my attention. Well I must say I am getting quite a bit accomplished!:o) Gathered all my notes and scribbles, pulling stuff from here and there and feeling quite good at the moment.:o) I tell you time waits on no one! It seems like just a few days ago I announced my break and here we are in the middle of July already and a beautiful July I must say. These days have certainly been beautiful ones. Skies a clear blue with big puffy white clouds and warm summer breezes...simply wonderful!

I want to give a big hug and thanks to those of you who purchased pretty summer jewels from my Syrenity Rose shop! Thank you so much and so happy you enjoy the jewelry, simply makes me smile.:o)

Any special projects going on with you at the moment? Summer is a wonderful season and hope you are certainly enjoying yours..:o)

Hello all! Hope the start of your week is a beautiful one. Mine is moving along just wonderfully. Just a few days ago I celebrated yet another birthday! Yep, June 23rd a little girl was born whom my dear sweet mother gave the name Beverly.:o) I had a quiet and wonderful day and some presents too! I count it a Blessing to have celebrated another year of life...by the way, I am 57 years young.:o) I know many do not like to share their age, but I don't mind at all.:o)

We are having a lovely summer here in southern California. It seems as though each day is even more beautiful than the day before. Honey and I will be taking some time to relax and enjoy. I will also be taking some time to finish up some projects and do some writing. I am so looking forward to it all. I'm going to take the full month of July. I hope to return with lots to share with you.:o) Happy summer to each of you! Take care and will chat with you in a few weeks♥

As I sat and admired this beautiful photo of leaves, just what makes them so beautiful. Was it the gentle twist of some, the graceful folds of others. Was it the tiny leaves, the large, or the leaves in between. Medium, dark, light with other hues of green..... Indeed it is these differences that make the whole undeniably beautiful!

Wanted to take a moment and share a tiny bit of just whats been going on in my craft room lately. Don't you just heart pretty papers! I turned these into some very pretty and romantic tags. Thanks to on-line tutorials I have learn to distress ribbon, but must say I added my own little twist to it with even more amazing and beautiful results. Ribbon with the look of a time past...beautifully crinkled, faded and gorgeous!:o) You can see them at the bottom of the post. I love them.:o)

Hello all! Wanted to post even earlier but Blogger would not upload photos. For me a post without photos is like a banana split without the banana.:o) Anyhow all seems to be much better now. Visiting around blogland, it seems quite a few are having trouble with Blogger in one way or another. It can be a little frustrating and I cannot count the times I have threaten to leave them and never return. On the plus side, Blogger is easy to use and have made quite a few improvements in the right direction over the years...so I think I will stay.:o)

I hope each of you enjoyed a lovely weekend. Mine was wonderful and the weather oh so beautiful. Honey and I did take a little break from household chores and headed for the ocean. A sit by ocean, breathing in fresh air and admiring its beauty and vastness...simply wonderful. I could sit for hours listening and enjoying. Some of the best things in life really are free.:o)

The week will be a busy one for me. With plans to open my Tea Time shop in the coming weeks, there will be much time spent in my little studio. The sun shines brightly through my studio window late afternoons and can be uncomfortably warm so I try to get up early and finish before it makes its appearance.:o) What will you be doing this week. Beginning to feel like my old self again.:o) Thanks to each of you for your well wishes. You all are certainly a great bunch!:o)

Well I knew it would happen, but I just didn't know when....the paper bug has bitten again. I spent a great part of yesterday pulling out all my paper goodies including stamps, punches, trimmers, stickers, clip art, embossing plates, ribbon and more! It is time to create with paper and I am so excited!:o) My little tea time shop on Etsy has been sitting waiting for me to return and that time has certainly come.

I have so many new ideas to share with you! I've promised myself to use just what I have in my stash, but will have to purchase a few new things I need. Using up my stash is pushing me to be creative in a new way.:o) When you love paper like I do it can be kinda hard not to go paper shopping, but nope no paper shopping for me.:o)

I hope to have lots of pretty things to show in the coming weeks. My goal is to be ready for Christmas in July! By the way, I am so looking forward to visiting each of you in the coming days. I've missed you for sure!:o) Enjoy a lovely Memorial Day!

You never know just what a day or a week will bring.:o) Last week was spent nursing a bad cold/flu that really had me good! I am feeling much better, though I am still coughing with a slight sore throat and sneezes here and there, woe is me.:o( I try so hard not to catch cold, but oh my this one grabbed me and refused to let go.:o)

Hello all! I see Blogger has fixed its problem and we can continue to comment with ease. For a moment I thought maybe is was my computer, but soon found out it was certainly Blogger. I hope each of you enjoyed a lovely weekend. Mine was spent nursing a sore throat and a cough. I am one of those who seem not to catch cold often, maybe every three years or so, but when I do it seems to make up for lost time.:o) So it has been lots of fluid, Tylenol and cough drops for me. The worse part is the headache, boy does it hurt and I don't like it at all.

I made this sweet little card for a friend of my daughter who is having a little boy.:o) I could not resist using this sweet bunny, so cute!:o) This sweet bunny image came from Piddix, a wonderful Etsy shop with beautiful vintage images. What makes Piddix special is the fact that all images in her beautiful shop she either owns the rights to or are completely in the public domain, I love that! This allows me to design with confidence. I've been using her images for quite a while and love them!

linen and lace.....

I still remember the grandness and beauty of my grandmother's linen closet. Stacks of beautiful sheets, pretty aprons, linen hand towels and hankies, crocheted doilies and beautiful handmade quilts. As a little one it indeed was a nice place to visit, but now as a big girl I realize what a real treasure grandma's linen closet was.

It has been a real treat collecting these tiny treasures of vintage linen and lace. In no way will I ever have a linen closet like grandmother, but these lovely pieces certainly make me smile.

Pretty lace napkins make tea time even more special. The treat of a linen hand towel and a beautiful bar of hand milled soap...sweet little indulgence and no added calories!:o) One of my favorites books on the care and collecting of vintage linens and lace is Linens and Lace by Tricia Foley. A beautiful book full of lovely photos and decorating ideas.

Another week's end has come. I hope yours was a lovely one and you have plans for a beautiful weekend ahead. Mine was a wonderful one, but I must say I miss visiting all of you. My computer simply did not want to cooperate for a few days, but all is well now I hope.:o)

Honey and I will be heading up the coast for a much needed and anticipated spring break. Bags are packed and ready to go! :o) My new Syrenity Rose shop will remain open, and would like to thank those of you who sent such lovely feedback regarding my new jewelry shop home! I think I am going to love it here! I will always have Etsy love:o) So many talented artist and crafters there. It is indeed Etsy that taught me a whole bunch about e-commerce. For anyone new to the handmade business, I recommend Etsy for sure.:o) The support is awesome!!

Beautiful butterflies, one of the delights of springtime. Lately I have had to ask....where have all the butterflies gone. I remember as children the smiles they brought to our faces. Colorful, delightful, graceful, playful, so beautiful the butterflies. Quietly approaching for a chance to feel the feathery softness of their wings.

With just a little research, I come to learn that my observation was true. Many are asking where have all the butterflies gone and bumble bees too. Lots of different theories but one thing I know for sure...I miss them so.

a gentle drum.....

Honey and I were awaken this morning by the gentle drumming sound of a happy little woodpecker. Rushing to the window to see just where the sound was coming from, there he was way atop a wooden pole this pretty little woodpecker drumming away.:o) Honey hurried to get dressed, grabbed his camera and off he went. Our pics were not the best so that lead to an online search for a perfect liking of our little Sunday morning visitor.

What a beautiful red crown he had, even more than this one in the pic. The males have red crowns while the female crowns are black. These beautiful birds are quite common throughout the United States and Canada, but are much rarer in southern parts of California. They use their stiff tail feathers to cling and balance on tree trunks and branches and are quite territorial.

This little sweetie went on drumming his territory for quite a while. I sure hope he comes back for another visit soon. I found him quite wonderful.:o)

Hello to each and everyone of you. March is here and promises of spring are near. A field of flowers, big puffy white clouds, blue skies, caterpillars, butterflies, birds singing songs of springtime, the laughter of children at play....Oh the lovely sights and sounds of spring.

The old world beauty of the calla lily is certainly a spring bridal favorite. An unfussy flower, beautiful in its simplicity. This lovely lily was photographed a few springs ago inside our court garden, simply beautiful don't you think. What will you be growing in your garden this spring.

Have you ever had a season or time in your life when you simply and what seems to be unconsciously reach for a certain color. For me it has been pretty shades of green.

Just a few days ago I purchased a lovely new pattern book. I have to admit the knitting patterns in the book are quite lovely, but the pretty green lacy socks on the cover sure helped with my decision to purchase.:o) Oh beautiful green how I love you so.....but could it be that this long and wonderful love affair with beautiful green just may be ending, for just today I saw the most beautiful shade of blue that caused my heart to simply melt.:o)

What is your present favorite color. I would really love to know.:o) Each of you enjoy a most lovely week.

By the way, I found this lovely pattern on Ralvery. I'm using a beautiful green malabrigo worsted merino, it certainly has been a joy knitting this one.:o)

Hello all! Hope you are enjoying a beautiful weekend. It is still yet a few hours left what has been a most lovely Sunday. I certainly enjoyed my little break, a wonderful time indeed. I relaxed, cleaned, read, knit, planned, dreamed, organized my little studio among lots of other little things.

I am also in the middle of moving to a brand new venue for my jewelry designs. I will tell you more about that later, but I can tell you I am quite excited.:o) I am also excited about our soon coming spring season, a perfect time for me to relax enjoy a lovely spring and my writing. So I will be taking another little break the beginning of the season to do just that.:o) I so love beautiful winter, but oh how I am longing for springtime. I've been dreaming of the Prado and all its beautiful spring flowers, especially the poppies. Many of you have heard me speak of the Prado, but for those of you who do not know, it is a beautiful historic park with the most beautiful gardens. The rose gardens are breathtaking, the spring gardens amazing. Honey and I love to visit all year, especially during spring and summer. You have any special springtime plans?

In just a few days Honey and I celebrate 37 years of marriage.:o) Tuesday, January 18th, is the day and we are certainly excited! new discoveries......

Hello all! Hope your new year is moving right along just beautifully. I tell you time sure does seem to fly; we are more than a week into our new year already! I must say it has been a lovely past week. I spent the past few days putting together little packages to be gifted. I am a little late in getting them out, but I am finally catching up with it all.:o)

I've also spent a little time with "youtube" learning how to make resin pendants. Wow I tell you "youtube" is one great place for us crafters to learn new stuff!:o) I had seen these lovely pendants and fell in love with them, but had no idea just how they were made. Well after a few hours with "youtube" I was confident I could do it and even found out I could use glass instead of resin, just as pretty and a lot less work.:o) After a few tries and a few ruined pendant trays I had it! I think the results are lovely and love the digital artwork I chose.

I also knew I was on to something when my fifteen year old granddaughter insisted I make her another soon, she really loved it.:o) As for me, anything with roses and pretty crowns is a winner in my book. I think I will make a few more of these for sure.:o) Though it is quite early in the new year have you made any new little discoveries just yet? Happy week to you dear friends. The night before Christmas...all is calm and all is bright. Honey and I are finally settling down. I have been enjoying some wonderful old fashion hard candy, yummy. Honey is having a ball with his camera. I think he just went out doors to snap the neighbors lights.:o) We both are kids at heart when it comes to Christmas! I am also finishing up an earring and necklace set for my sister. The only thing left to do is to fill my little goodie bags which I will finish early morning. Hello all! Hope each of you enjoyed a most lovely weekend. Just a few days till Christmas.:o) For me, the busy is starting to slow just a bit. Honey and I took a little break yesterday in the way of a long drive along the coast. Oh my goodness what a lovely drive it was. It was a pretty warm day yesterday, but once the sun tucked behind the horizon the evening breezes were amazing.

Hello all! Is it really only days till Christmas.:o) I've been twisting, wrapping, tying bows, cutting and folding...a busy week in my little studio for sure. I also made the prettiest handmade gift tags using lovely vintage Christmas images. They were quite easy to make. I simply copied the images onto card stock. Once copied I cut the images out, punched a hole at the top and added ribbon. Oh my goodness what a difference these tags make to your gifts, the perfect touch. If you want to be extra fancy you can even add glitter to your tags. Vintage Holiday Crafts offers some of the most beautiful free clip art for the holidays. Give them a visit, I just know you will be delighted. Even if you don't make your own gift tags, adding a little glitter to store bought tags dresses them up just beautifully!:o)

I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can get in a few handmade Christmas cards this year. For me, it is something wonderful about giving handmade at Christmas. You don't have to be a crafty queen, a handmade gift is a heart gift no matter how small. Wishing each and everyone of you a most beautiful week.

Beautiful but busy, those are the holidays for sure.:o) In the mist of the busy, I thought I would settling down for just a moment with a good book. Leaves of Gold a lovely choice and gives me a chance to use the sweet little brass bookmarks I have been creating by the dozens.:o)

Mornings have been cool, the evenings even cooler. A special time of the year for sure. Think I will make this day a resting day...a warm throw, Leaves of Gold, my knitting needles and maybe even a movie. The holidays can be so busy, but don't forget to carve out a little respite for you too.:o) Take care.

As I sat in my little studio so enjoying the little things I have collected over the years, I could not help but smile. Most are used to make my crafting a whole lot easier, others simply because I could not resist their sweetness. A paper punch with the prettiest pink handles you have ever seen. Tiny colorful brads that mimic the colors of jelly beans. Roses, pretty hats, lace, ribbons, pearls...what makes us girls drawn to these things...nature or nurture, I am really not sure. But I will tell you this, it's good to be a girl! Wishing each and everyone of you a beautiful week.

November is the month when so many of us stop to give thanks for the abundance of blessings in our lives. It is also a time when I begin to think of sweet little handmade gifts to share with family and friends. One of these little gifts are lavender filled cotton muslin bags. These little bags are so easy to make and share and we all know just how wonderful lavender is!:o) All you need to do is pour and tie, that's it! The fragrance of these lavender buds from Provence are amazing and can be purchased here. My supply is nearly a year old and the fragrance is beautiful as ever.

I love these little all natural mill cloth muslin bags. Do any of you remember the "gold nugget" bubble gum that came in these little bags we would enjoy as children. Well these are the same little bags, yep the same ones. They even came with the yellow/gold little string. The bags can be found here.

Simply remove the cords, fill the bags, tie a sweet little bow using some jute or ribbon, add a little button and you are done. Simple, sweet and wonderful to share. I plan to make quite a few of these for the holidays in lavender and with a spiced apple potpourri, just perfect for the holiday season.:o)

Autumn is surely paying us a lovely visit. The leaves are falling so beautiful and golden. The breezes are crisp and cool. The mornings are comfortable and quiet. Autumn is certainly something special, don't you think. Honey took this photo of our neighbor's steps before she cleared them away. Her yard is grand and beautiful with the loveliest flowers and trees with her weeping willow tree being my favorite.

House in the leaves.:o) This is one beautiful home. Our neighborhood is full of history and beautiful old homes. Our local nursery is celebrating its 100th birthday! It seems that the autumn leaves give these old homes a fairy tale feel.

Salon Bella as well as the other shops are all dressed up for Halloween. When possible I must take a photo of all the shops in this block, they are amazing!

Love this little bench. It sits right out front of Salon Bella. I keep promising myself a lovely bench just like this one.:o) The little orange lights in the trees are certainly a sweet touch. Continue to enjoy a lovely autumn my friends.

Hello all! Hope each of you are enjoying a lovely week. For me, it is moving alone quite nicely I must say. I spent the early part of the morning enjoying a sweet conversation with my daughter. What a joy she is, so kind, full of wisdom and inspiration. It seems as though it was just yesterday that I was braiding her hair; finishing just perfectly with those big ribbons I love to see her wear. Now she is all grown up with a family of her own. I see a lot of me in her, I also see a lot of her in me. Love you dear daughter.

Have you ever spent a few hours simply browsing the web looking for something new and wonderful. I found it to be a nice little break in the middle of the day and made some wonderful discoveries and certainly wanted to share them with you. :o) I was simply in awe when I found this lovely website. Elizabeth Patch, a lovely artist, teacher, motivator, author and more. Her blog is indeed a very special place. Through art and words she inspire women to love themselves beyond what they simply see on the outside. My visit with Elizabeth was a wonderful one for sure. Though her art beautifully displays woman of size, it is my belief that no matter what your size you too will come away with a smile after spending a few moments there.

Jared over at Brooklyn Tweed is not new to me but his fabulous new yarn line sure is!:o) Jared is an amazing knitwear designer and photographer. Even if you have never picked up the needles, a visit to his site is a real treat! The new yarn line is called "Shelter" a beautiful woolen-spun in seventeen beautiful colorways. Oh and while you are there check out Jared's work and patterns, simply amazing!

Now if you love pretty, and what girl doesn't, you will love "nest pretty things"! A true Etsy treasure! I fell in love with this lovely shop the moment I laid eyes on it :o) Tamar's beautiful jewelry will certainly bring a smile to your face. She also has a sweet line of jewelry for the little ones. Beautiful wooden toys, I love them! Check out these two wonderful artist! What a lovely Saturday afternoon we are having! The weather is just lovely! Beautiful blue skies, warm autumn breezes and a little toe that feels much much better:o) I am so looking forward to spending time outdoors today. Hello all! Hope each of you are enjoying a most beautiful week. I spent the weekend in bed nursing a sore toe:o) Well it all happened like this....on Thursday morning while sliding out of bed I twisted my toe just a little, I mean no pain of any sort. On Friday all seemed well but I did notice a little soreness, but nothing major. But oh my goodness on Saturday afternoon I was in full blown misery!:o) I thought I better stop all I was doing and rest it for a while. Well here I am Tuesday and my little toe is just beginning to feel better. Wow what happened! Oh my goodness is it age or what!:o) I am going to take the rest of the week easy and make sure I am careful with it. Hello all! Hope each of you enjoyed a beautiful weekend and wishing you a lovely week ahead. I certainly enjoyed my little break and manage to use my time pretty wisely I think.:o) Many of you know just how much I adore the beautiful rose. I have adoration for many flowers, but oh the beautiful rose is certainly nearest and dearest to my heart. So lately in the studio, among other things, I have been making some very pretty rose jewelry like the earrings above. These earrings were made using vintage mother of pearl buttons from my stash and to that I added some lovely resin roses. I cannot wait to share with you all the new rosey ideas I have come up with!:o)

I promise to share more pics with you soon! I also have lots of new knitting projects in the wings. I purchased new yarn on yesterday for Honey a new hat and scarf for the coming cooler weather. I have been wanting to try Lion Brand's newest line the LB collection. The yarn is a beautiful pure virgin wool and it feels wonderful! I cannot wait to see how it knits up. I've used very few Lion Brand yarns, but this one I thought I must try.:o) What new projects do you have in the wings. I would love to hear all about them. Take care my friends! Hello all! Here in the United States, for many Labor Day is the last major holiday before the start of a brand new school year. My little grand daughter is raring and ready to go. She loves school and makes pretty good grades, she is indeed a smart girl:o) She is texting friends, preparing her backpack....lots of giggles and excitement. She also has a birthday in just a few days, she will be fifteen years old. my my how time flies.

There were lots of picnics over the weekend. Honey and I spent time with the grand kids on yesterday. I tell you grand kids are a pure joy:o) Little Jeremiah is already two years old, and the sweetest little thing ever. All you grandmas know we can go on forever talking about the grand kids!:o)

I am going to take a little break, and so looking forward to it:o) Simply some time to relax and enjoy. I also have a few projects I am quite excited about I will be working on. Don't you just love quiet mornings. The kind when everything is still, not yet awaken.   Well this certainly a morning such as this, a perfect time for sharing here with you.

On my last post I promised to share something wonderful with you. Reading the post once again, I had to smile...."It's not gold nor silver", but actually it's something far greater.   God's Word is far greater than silver or gold, rubies, diamonds, pearls or any earthly treasure one may possess. It's able to change one's heart, one's life in a way that nothing else can.

When facing what then seemed like some of the darkest days of my life, I began to seek God's Word with all my might, all my mind, all my soul. I needed some answers. Have you ever been in that place, I am sure most of us can give a resounding loud and clear yes on that one!:o) Those valley days, months, years can be something else for sure. So many mornings I awaken with tears streaming my cheeks, the very thought of another day seem more than I could bear. But it was in the valley that I come to understand the awesomeness and great power of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I come to learn something about Him that I thought I knew before, He loves me! Oh I know we have heard those words time and time again and even sang the hymn as children "Yes Jesus loves me for the Bible tells me so". But friends, He LOVES YOU, I mean really love you. Not as the world loves you, but with His perfect love He loves you. Once you have grasp this awesome and wonderful truth, it makes all the difference in how you see yourself and your valleys experiences.

In those days I would write scripture down on index cards and slip them in my purse. I think I chose index cards because at that time I was in college, at the young age of forty I must say, and I had plenty of index cards around:o) I remember spending my lunch hour with my little scripture index cards. Sitting in the college library, between studying I would pull out my index cards. Walking the long corridor to carry a requested medical record, I would reach for my little card with a sweet little reminder of God's Word. Looking back on those days, I cannot help but smile. I can now say it was some of the sweetest moments of fellowship with my Saviour, sweet sweet sweet:o)

In 2007 I took from my journal many of the scriptures I love so much and shared them with family and now want to share them with you.   It seems many are facing difficult times at present, but remember my friends, it is in these times we must learn to rest in His word. God promised to never leave us nor forsake us. He also reminds us that nothing could ever separate us from His love.   Continue to remind yourself daily of God's Word. Write it down and make it plain, most of all write it on the tablet of your heart.   Take care and enjoy a beautiful weekend and a lovely week to follow.

I so enjoy those moments of looking back through all the poems I have collected over the years. I can spend hours just browsing through them and reading as though it was my first time. A lovely poem or a beautiful sentiment never grows old or tiring. "A Woman Of Strength" is certainly one of those I never tire of. something old, something new

Hello all! Hope your weekend was a lovely one and your week thus far is more of the same. As I sit here in my little studio looking out the window, what a beautiful summer day. The clouds big and puffy white, the breezes warm and gentle. On days like this I often find myself spending way too much time in the window, I am just drawn there:o) I love watching the little birds going about their day without a care in the world. Ever notice just how much more grander their songs in summer. Just a few days ago, a sweet little bushy tailed squirrel was having a wonderful time in the tree right outside my window. It would scamper up and down the tree and played on the branches for the longest time. I strive each day to be more like these sweet little critters, to simply enjoy the simple pleasures our Father has so graciously and unselfishly given to each of us.

It will be a busy week in my little studio. I am working to complete a custom bridal order for a lovely bride to be. She has been a dream to work with. That was over thirty-seven years ago with a love that grows more and more each day. Marriage is honorable and beautiful in the eyesight of our Lord, it is indeed a good thing. As a little girl, it was pink bubble gum, pink cotton candy, pink bows and pink ballerina shoes.....it is simply something about pink that we little girls loved. Now that we are all grown up.....pink roses, pink diamonds, pink pearls, and even pink Cadillacs.:o) For me, it is certainly pink roses.

From light crimson to beautiful reddish purple, each colorway with a beauty all its own. I had to share these lovely pink roses with you, a lovely way to start a morning.

Hello all! Was your weekend a lovely one, I certainly hope so. Mine was a wonderful one. I spent time revisiting many of my favorite books, delightful indeed. I also did a little knitting and a little writing too. Honey and I did go out on Saturday evening for a few hours heading up the coast to enjoy the ocean breezes.

I wanted to share this little button picture ornament I made sometime ago. I love old vintage buttons they are one of my favorite simple things and find it hard to part with them or even craft with them. I keep them all in pretty clear jars occasionally taking them out simply to admire. What is it about old vintage buttons....I love their smoothness, their texture, their history, and the fact that they are just plain beautiful. If I ever become brave enough to do a tutorial, this little button ornament I think would be one of my favorites to do.:o) What is it that frightens me about a tutorial? Hmmm I do not know. I think it is wanting to make sure I make it doable and enjoyable.:o) But I do think it is high time for me to break the ice.:o)

A Little Pear And A Tip.....

Hello all! Hope you are having a lovely week. Mine is moving along just beautifully.:o) Do you love pincushions like I do. This sweet little pear pincushion I made several months back and thought it was time to really use it. The stem is made from a little found twig, I thought it added a sweet little touch:o) I deeply wanted to share the pattern with you but have seem to have misplaced it....but all is not lost.:o) I found another free pattern very similar to this one on a fabulous site called "tipnut", and what a wonderful site it is! "Tipnut" is filled to the brim with you guested it.... tips! Tips on cleaning, crafts, DIY projects, food, gardening, health and beauty and so much more. This is one place you have got to visit!:o)

Knitting Simple......

Totally inspired by all the beautiful knitted cloths over at homespun living, I decided to knit a spa cloth for my self. A small simple knit can be so relaxing, and it also gave me a really good reason to use my new Lantern Moon needles! These needles are handmade of ebony wood and simply wonderful! The stitches just seem to glide along with ease.

For those of you who have used hand knit cloths know just how wonderful they are. Using my own pattern and pure cotton by "sugar'n and cream", knitting bliss.:o)

For you none knitters, if ever you decide to take the plunge into the knitting world I think you will love it!!:o) There are tons of online tutorials that will have you knitting in no time.:o) Take care all and enjoy a lovely week.

Hello all! Hope your weekend was a beautiful one! Honey and I enjoyed a lovely one I must say. We headed up north to spend a few days and each was a delight. We arose early and retired late.:o) No rush or schedules or places to be, but simply a relaxing three days.

After arriving back home on yesterday evening we decided to have a sandwich from our favorite sandwich shop. As we pulled into the drive way I notice a man standing against the wall, dirty, tattered and torn. My heart sank as I saw the condition of his clothing. His face soiled, his hair mangled his feet bare.

I was hoping he would stay put where he was standing for Honey was ordering him a sandwich along with ours. Service seem to be kind of slow in the shop that day and sure enough he began to walk away from the spot where he had been standing. Excusing myself I politely called out to him and he turn to me. I ask if he would kindly wait just a few moments for my husband was bringing a sandwich out to him. He smiled and said "thank you" and proceeded to lean against the wall patiently waiting. As he looked at me sitting in the car we exchanged smiles. What a gentle spirit this man possessed. I also wondered what in this man's life brought him to this condition. He seemed so pleasant, gentle and kind. Honey handed him the sandwich he politely thanked him and gave us a wave as we begin to pull away.

As a woman I do not approach the homeless alone and do not recommend it to any woman. I am so happy Honey was with me that day and so happy to have met such a gentle soul.

Let us not forget to pray for the homeless in our nations, cities and towns, and when possible don't forget to give a smile. A smile is the biggest little thing each of us can do. Also many of our local churches and food banks do so much in helping our homeless and will gladly except food donations and other basics.

Hello all! Hope your week is moving along just beautifully. I enjoyed a lovely weekend and am having a pleasant week. A few of you know June is my birthday month and the lovely pearl is my birthstone. I love pearls and kept "Marvella" and "Monet" in business with all the pretty glass pearls I purchased in the early seventies and eighties.:o) So while on my blogging break a few weeks back I made a lovely pearl necklace and bracelet for myself, a little early birthday gift from me to me.

I am always so busy making jewels for others and thought it was time to make something beautiful for me.:o) Honey often reminds me not to forget about myself while I'm busily making and doing. I guess it is like the old saying "Everyone's hair is done except for woman who owns the salon".:o) Well I took out some of my best findings and went to work using beautiful Swarovski pearls and crystals along with lovely Tierra Cast bead caps, spacers and toggles. I have to admit, I had a wonderful time making these pieces and feel they came out just beautifully.

I've worn the bracelet several times and will be wearing the necklace soon. I couldn't decide if I wanted to string the pearls or link them. I am happy I decided on linking them, the linking allowed for a beautiful drape and also gives the pieces a more contemporary but dressy look and feel. This was a lot of fun and already have a few more pieces in mind just for me.:o) Have you given yourself a little gift lately from you to you? By the way, my birthday is June 23rd and will have been on the planet a whole 56 years.:o)

Hello! Hope each of you enjoyed a beautiful Memorial Day weekend. The weather was absolutely lovely with picnics all around.:o) Don't you just love picnics! Food, fun, family and friends. Speaking of picnics...I discovered a wonderful photo editing tool on line called Picnik and I am quite excited about its discovery. Picnik is perfect for someone like me who needs an editing package that is straight forward and easy to use, I love it! Also the cost is very easy on the budget. If you want to have fun with your photos, you must try it! I get absolutely nothing for telling you how wonderful it is, I just love it!!

Honey and I enjoyed a lovely break. I even took a few extra days.:o) I promise to get pics up soon of a few of the crafty things I worked on. I also knitted a lovely shawlette in a beautiful foliage green I must share with you. I am currently working on a second in a soft taupe. The yarn is a light weight microfiber and wool blend so soft, perfect for spring and summer.

My promised giveaway is just around the corner. I have a few things in mind but think I have now narrowed it down to just what it will be. I truly want it to be special.:o) Take care my friends and enjoy a lovely week.

Honey is taking the next two weeks off from studying and we are simply going to relax and enjoy. I am also looking forward to spending time in my little studio not making jewelry but writing, stitching, cardmaking and knitting too.:o) I've also set aside some lovely vintage buttons for a few mother of pearl tiny button bouquets! You know, a little break is just what the doctor ordered.:o)

Hello all! Hope your day is starting out just beautiful! The morning is lovely, so peaceful and quiet, a perfect time to sit and share with you.

My time in the Word, prayer, family, sharing with others, my home, quiet time, my writing, my little shop are all near and dear to my heart. Finding and keeping balance is not an easy thing to do and takes lots of work.:o) Determined this year to make it happen has meant for a happier me.

Now almost five months into the new year I am reaping the benefits of finding that happy medium:o) Becky at Hospitality Lane has a beautiful post titled "Climb With Me". Oh my what an inspirational and beautiful post Dear Becky. She speaks of reaching beyond our comfort zone. Meeting and taking new challenges head on. She also reminds us that with God meeting these challenges are surely possible.

I tell you dear friends, I simply do not know what I would do without the love, wisdom, and guidance of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He is my best friend!:o) I do not think a day goes by without sharing His goodness with someone. When you find a treasure it is hard to keep quiet.:o)

So if you do not find me here as often, or my visits a little less few. It in no way means I am not thinking of you but will most certainly be back this way soon.:o) One could never go to long without visiting a friend.:o) Enjoy a awesome week my friends.

Taking a moment to wish each of you a most lovely weekend. This weekend will be a busy one in the studio taking photos of my latest jewelry designs. I also plan to try and get a little knitting in. Hello dear friends! I hope yours was a beautiful weekend a weekend that left you refreshed and ready to take on the week ahead. It was indeed a beautiful one for Honey and me. A weekend of simply relaxing and relaxing some more. No chores or work of any kind.....lazy days.:o)

Saturday afternoon we packed up the car and headed north returning in the wee hours of the morning. Time just seem to fly, but they say that's exactly what happens when you're having fun!:o) The ocean beautiful, the skies so blue, the weather perfect...an amazing day.

I wanted to share a few pics with you Honey captured Sunday afternoon. This area is called La Jolla Cove and oh how beautiful it is! At the end of a very long day Honey and I often drive to the Cove simply to enjoy the cool ocean breezes and listen to the beautiful sounds made as the waves gently hit the shore, beautiful indeed.

Sweet little baby gull his or her down is not yet white as that of the adult gull. I love the feet, so cute.:o)

The tide was out revealing beautiful rocks that are unseen during high tide.

Even the green of algae is beautiful! A deep forest green, it amazing how it grows on the rocks.

There seem to be more hues of a very pretty blue green in the waters Sunday with areas of deep ocean blue, so lovely.

A Sweet Kind Of Busy....

Hello all! Hope you are enjoying a beautiful week. Another beautiful day here in my neck of the woods.:o) Looking from my studio window I can see the leaves gracefully dancing beneath the gentle breezes. The kind of day when you simply need a light sweater, grab a friend and take a stroll or even a drive....a lovely kind of day.

Going about my work, you came to mind. It has been quite busy in my little studio as of late, a sweet kind of busy I must say. The kind of busy you simply don't mind. The kind that makes you feel good, accomplished, and in turn you know you have made not only yourself happy but others happy too. But I must say, I so miss my normal visiting schedule with each of you and find myself peeking between work to see just what you are up to.:o)

Spring Has Sprung!!

Happy first day of Spring everyone!! Is spring peeking her little head in your part of the world? Time to slowly put away our heavy coats, wool mittens and piles of blankets and replace them with just a little lighter attire.:o) Spring is most certainly in the air and blossoms are sprouting everywhere! These sweet blooms where found during a walk in the neighborhood. I hope you enjoy them.:o)

As I look into the face of these lovely flowers, I cannot help but think of just how much our Heavenly Father loves us. He knows just what we need and when we need it. It has been a harsh winter for so many, but look at these beauties. Seasons are beautiful and necessary.

Does your favorite color change? Lavender was my favorite for the longest time. Blue is my present best, but oh this lovely yellow! Beautiful!

Dressed in white, fresh and new. Springtime is the perfect time to start anew, to plan, to reorganize, to realign ones self once again with your dreams and aspirations.

This is our seventh season with this sweet little fig tree. It seems to be more beautiful than ever this season. It stands right outside my studio window letting me know that spring has surely sprung!:o)

I Most Certainly Do......

Hello to each and everyone of you! Hope you enjoyed a most beautiful weekend. Oh my I cannot begin to tell you just how lovely it was here all weekend long. Clear blue skies, gentle breezes and sunshine! The clouds so puffy white, the ocean so beautiful! Spring is near, spring is near!

The beautiful bride above is my niece Tiffany (Tiffy) and her handsome groom Ryan. The two exchanged vows last month February 13th the day before Valentine's Day! What a beautiful wedding it was, not one detailed going untouched. Though we have had many weddings in our family, it was the first wedding without the presence of Dear Sweet Mother.

Tiffany and Ryan became high school sweethearts with just a little help from Mother. Preparing for her soon coming prom, Tiffany was asked by Ryan if he could be the one to escort her to the prom. Tiffy was not sure if that was what she wanted, so she called grandma.:o) Tiffy had a most special relationship with her grandmother and often called her for advice about school, dating or anything else that was on her mind. Mother was indeed the kind of Mom and Grand Mom you simply just wanted to share with. They talked about the prom and Ryan's wanting to accompany her to it. After a long conversation mother advised Tiffy to accept the date for Ryan sound like a wonderful and kind young man. The two of them enjoyed the prom with memories that will last a life time..... seven years later they became man and wife.

Mother was not present when Tiffany and Ryan exchanged vows, but I have a feeling she would have most certainly approved.:o)

Just a few days ago I shared a conversation with my sweet sister...."Mother's prayers are still being answered and will continue to be answered in all of our lives". Reminds me of the great patriarchs in the Bible who prayed but did not themselves live to see those prayers come to past, but yet those prayers were surely answered. Their presence was not a necessity, not a necessity at all.

Yesterday marked two years since Mother went to Heaven. I hold the promise near that one day and one day soon we will all see her sweet smiling face once again. Oh my what a wonderful day that will be!

Whispers Of Spring....

Hello! I hope each of you enjoyed a most beautiful weekend and are ready to take on the week.:o) My weekend was a wonderful one, quite busy in my little studio I must say. I had a most pleasant surprise that made for a happy heart and a very busy weekend. The details are on my Cri Design Blog.:o)

As I listen to just a bit of a weather report just a few nights ago it seems that tiny signs of Spring are beginning to show. It has been such a harsh and cold winter for so many across the country and around the world....hang in there Spring is on its way.:o)

My neighbor has some very pretty daffodils planted in her front yard along with some sweet little pansies, a lovely sight indeed. Few things are lovely as the sweet little faces of pansies. Do you have any special plans for our soon coming Spring?

Something New!

Hello all! Well the raindrops are certainly falling here today. Honey and I awoke early this morning enjoyed an early breakfast and both agreeing that our day would be best spent inside. And how wonderful it was, not only did we enjoy a lovely breakfast together we both were able to complete many of the chores we most likely would not have completed if the sun was shining brightly.:o) Who can resist venturing outdoors when the sun peaks through even just a little.:o)

With chores completed, and a promise of clearing skies on tomorrow, we plan to take a Sunday drive and visit a few of my favorite yarn shops. I having been peering through my knit books for something wonderful to knit. I am one of those knitters who first buy a lovely yarn I cannot resist and then pick a pattern I think will fit that yarn just perfectly.:o) By the way.......

I have a brand new blog! A place where I can chat about Cri Designs! A place where us girls can talk jewelry! I want to make my new blog a fun place where I not only share the latest Cri Design news and designs, but there will also be giveaways, tips, trends, and so much more! Hello all! Hope your weekend was a lovely one. Mine was wonderfully relaxing. The weekend was cool with a few scattered raindrops, just enough to make it nice and cozy.

As you know I love to take long drives especially along the coast. I think one of the most wonderful things about our drives are those occasions when Honey and I discover those special little places to dine and shop, places you just happen upon. No billboards leading you there, no fanfare or bright lights, a place totally unknown to you....a beautiful discovery that you remember forever.

Beside Still Waters is one of those special places, a beautiful discovery indeed. The author of the blog is Patty. When I discovered Patty's beautiful blog I knew I had happen upon a special place. Each of her post are so full of wisdom, so full of her love for our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I have followed her blog for quite sometime now. She is both gentle and sweet. She has a way of conveying the Word of God in way that is both clear and with love. Though we have never met personally and Patty does not comment often we are indeed kindred spirits. I sweetly think of her as the quiet blogger. If you have not met Patty, drop by her blog I know you will come away deeply inspired. When finding a treasure it must be shared.

Dropping in to wish each and everyone of you a most happy week filled to the brim with good things. Remember that "good things" often come in very tiny packages, no not diamonds, but something more. Many good things are not even paper wrapped, but simply wrapped in love. Something as simple as making a new friend, an unexpected hug, a tiny handmade gift, a smile from a child, a single rose, an unexpected "I love you", enjoying a favorite meal, a phone call from your best friend, a quiet moment with self, a good book, the smell of your favorite perfume, a lunch invite, love of family, love of friends....The list goes on and on.

Hello all! Hope you are enjoying a beautiful week thus far. Well I guess by now you have noticed the beautiful photo of the lovely Camille Cosby and the beautiful 97 year old Dorothy Height, educator, activist and so much more.

In this country of ours where youth is certainly worshiped, I am afraid the wisdom, grace and beauty of our seniors are many times overlooked.

I remember as a little girl I so enjoyed hearing all the stories the mother of our church would share with us kids. We children would gather around and listen intently as she told of her childhood, the land where she grew up, hard work and a lot of spooky stories too.:o) We children loved Mother Pounds so much! Whenever she entered the church she would soon have a gathering of children around her for we knew she had little treats in the huge purse she carried, something sweet.:o) She went to Heaven at the age of 98. What beautiful memories she left us kids, beautiful memories indeed. Many of her stories I still share today!:o)

As I look in the mirror and see those gray hairs appearing I see them as a right of passage, a sign of wisdom and beauty, preparation for the many stories I will tell.

The bible teaches us when there is a need to seek the elders of the church, it also teaches that women of age are to counsel, to direct, to guide. Let each of us not forget the wisdom that is richly among us in the wisdom of our seniors, something wonderful indeed.

Hello! Hello!

Hello all! I hope each of you enjoyed a most beautiful weekend and are all geared up for a fantastic week! I must say my time away was wonderful!! I did lots of little things that added up to big things.:o) I relaxed, did some writing, reading, knitting to name a few.

We are now well into the new year. The old saying that time seems to fly is certainly a true one. Before we know it we will be planning those fun summertime picnics.:o) During my little break I also thought of just how I wanted to spend the months ahead and what it would take for me to work that plan successfully. You know how much I long to become a published writer, a dream of mine for sure.:o) I also am loving my brand new venture in jewelry design and having a ball with that and presently have a deep desire to continue it rather seriously. By the way, my jewelry designs will be at 1000markets exclusively. I plan to close my Etsy Shop soon, but I will tell you more about that later.

I am also taking on a project I am calling the "me" project, I really do like the sound of that.:o) Most of what I love to do is done sitting. Oh my I could sit for hours on a project I am loving, not mention the sit time for one of my most favorite things...blogging.:o) I also have accumulated additional sit time due to mending. Well all of this sitting has got me a little stiff and I have got to loosen up a bit.:o) My surgery will be one year old February 13th and Honey and I plan to celebrate it with a walking and moving more plan.:o) I am really excited about it to say the least. So if I am not visiting as often, I just may be somewhere walking or doing some stretches.:o) Now that's a good thing!:o)

I also had to share this with you. I hesitated to make this sweet little ring. It is so simply in its design and I must admit quite simple to create, but once it was finished I loved it!:o) You may have seen others in similar designs but I think this one is something quite special. It took me weeks literally weeks to finally decide to create it. I was afraid it just simply would not be something I would love. I searched and searched for the right ring base and tried several flower cabochons before I was pleased. Well pleased I am, this is one beautiful ring. Honey and I went out last evening and I slipped it on my middle finger and enjoyed wearing it so much. A tiny cluster of flowers for the finger, so pretty. The filigree ring base is a wonderful quality and the cabochon is just lovely. I had to share this with you simply because it is one of those things that simply take you by surprise. I will have it in three beautiful spring colorways in my 1000market s shop later today!

Well my friends it was wonderful sharing this time here with you today. I will keep you posted on all my little projects. Even though I may not be commenting as often as usual in the coming weeks, my heart is always with my precious blog friends. Take care and enjoy a most beautiful week.

A Little Blogging Break....

Raindrops are falling making for a perfect day for hot tea, a warm blanket and a good book.:o) There are times when I welcome the rain and today is one of those days. Who says a rainy day is not a beautiful day, for today it most certainly is.

Thank you so much for your sweet Anniversary wishes, you are so kind. Honey and I simply relaxed on yesterday and that was quite nice.:o) For the next few days I will be taking a little blogging break. I will use the remainder of January to do some reading, writing and get some knitting in, simply relax.:o) It is as though I have this little inner time clock and tend to take a break in the month of January each year.:o) Hmmm I better go now, I think I hear my yarn calling my name!:o)

It's Our Anniversary!

Today Honey and I happily celebrate thirty-six years of marriage. As we drove along the coast last evening we talked of our beginning years together as a very young couple till now. We laughed, smiled with the same giggles we did as kids. The warmth of his touch and gentleness of his smile is something I so treasure. It seems as though our love grows deeper with each passing day. Happy Anniversary Honey. I love you so very much.

Something Beautiful!

Hello! I know I am running a little late, but here I am.:o) I hope each of you are enjoying a beautiful week. I wanted to take a few moments to share with you something quite wonderful from some very special friends.

By now I know you have noticed the beautiful tea set above.:o) This lovely set with its pretty blue roses is a gift from the lovely Paulina at Swept and Garnished. Paulina has a lovely blog and shares with us her love for all things beautiful especially tea!:o) I so look forward to my visits to Swept and Garnished for I know something wonderful will be waiting. Her treasures of beautiful china and sweet rose filled tea sets will simply take your breath away.

I received an email from Paulina that simply read I have a gift for you. Of course I was quite excited as any girl would be. :o) Soon my packaged arrived in the mail. I could not believe Paulina had gifted me with something so beautiful, so amazingly lovely. I will cherish this gift for the rest of my life. I know tea will be the sweetest from it!:o) The blue roses are detailed and stunning, the edging of the saucer and plate, beautiful!! Oh by the way, did I tell you it is Royal Albert.:o) Thank you so much Paulina a beautiful gift indeed.

Helene the author of the lovely blog Art Glehen is a beautiful artist a true inspiration. If you have not visited her beautiful blog oh my you must. It is the kind of place where one wants to linger awhile. A wonderful way to start a morning or to end a day. I received the most beautiful Christmas card from Helene. A lovely handmade card with a print of one of her beautiful roses. I am at complete awe to think one can take something as simple as paints and brushes and create something so beautiful, amazing. Thank you so much Helene.

I am indeed an Etsy girl and get so excited when I find out that one of my blogging buddies is opening a new shop!:o) Idalia of the Chronicles of Yaya Orchid has a brand new Etsy shop filled with wonderful things created by her. In her shop you will find hand knit scarves, handmade greeting cards, lavender filled sachets, sweetly embroidered baby blankets and more!:o) Well you all know I love to make, give and receive beautiful handmade cards and had to have these made by Idalia! Before I leave my friends. Dear sweet Mary over at Daisy Bouquet daughter recently suffered a tragic fire that left her and children with absolutely nothing. Hello to each of you! Hope the first few days of the new year were beautiful ones for you. I've been busily trying to create some order in my little studio. Christmas was quite busy and I am afraid things became a little unorganized.:o) Paper here, beads over there, yarn piled on the table with ribbon tossed to and fro. By Wednesday it should be all better.:o)

Thanks to each and everyone of you who purchased from Cri Designs during Christmas. I tell you I never expected such a wonderful response, a beautiful surprise indeed. I think I will spend the next few days organizing and sketching new designs for both Cri and Tea Time. I am looking forward to a wonderfully creative year with emphases on pushing myself out of my comfort zone, simply spreading my creative wings just a little more.:o) Any special plans?

Happy New Year!! .....Still Standing!

Happy New Year to each and every one of you! 2009 has come and gone. It held laughter, joy, tears, accomplishments and even sorrow. No matter what 2009 held for you. Take a look at yourself you are still standing! Just wish I could reach out and give each of you a big squeeze.:o) You my friends have been a constant source of inspiration and encouragement through out the year and for that I am truly grateful.

Before my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, I bow humbly giving Him praise and adoration. What a mighty God we serve! He is indeed the strength of my life, my everything. There is simply not enough space and time to tell of all of His goodness. He is the reason I smile, He is the reason I encourage others to cast their cares on Him for He truly cares for them. There is nothing more I love to do than to speak on His word, it fills you to over running.

As I was reading so many of the Christmas blessings and wishes from all of you, one of them read... "Beverly this year has been a rough one for you but you took it in stride". As so many of you already know February 13th 2009 I underwent surgery to repair my lower left mandible. My complete lower left jaw bone was removed and a new one built using the fibula from my left leg. Vessels were also taken to be used for blood supply to my new jaw. I went into surgery on Tuesday morning 9 a.m. and I was not awaken till Thursday evening. My doctors' felt my body needed the rest after such a long ordeal. I awaken to pain, a ventilator, a trach, wired jaws and a twelve inch incision on my left leg. My stay in the hospital was a long one. I could not speak and communicated using a little writing board while there. But oh my it is so wonderful to know when speaking to Jesus we need no words. He knows what we need before we utter a single syllable.

Mending has been a very long process. Although I am still walking with a little limp, guess what my friends I am still standing!

So to you, let 2010 be your year of seeking God with all your might, with all your mind, with all that is within you and I will continue do the same. Again, Happy New Year my friends! The best is yet to come! I would like to leave you with the words of the great Apostle Paul.

Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected;
but I press on, that I may lay hold of that
for which Christ Jesus has also laid
hold of me.

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended;
but one thing I do, forgetting those things

The Time Is Near....

Hello dear friends. The time is near, and I am excited to say the least.:o) The past few days have been pretty easy going around our house only to pick up once again. :o) My little butterfly mobile came out beautifully and I have so enjoyed watching it blow gently beneath the breeze coming through the window.

Tonight Honey and I will go out tonight for a little shopping. I need a few more treats to complete my goodie bags which I am delivering Christmas Eve. We are running a little behind on wrapping gifts. Tonight and Wednesday will be spent wrapping gifts and finishing my little bags. Honey will be baking sugar cookies on Christmas Eve. He bakes some delicious sugar cookies that are pretty popular with our family at Christmas. It is one of those recipes with a pinch of this and a dash of that and sprinkle here and there. I have to admit, they are so good but getting a recipe out of him has not worked over the years.:o) I think half of the fun for him is his keeping it a secret.:o)

Well my friends much to do before Thursday. Wishing each and everyone of you the most beautiful Christmas ever. I will be back here Christmas Eve. Take care.

Hello! Hope each of you are enjoying a most beautiful week. It has been quite busy around our house and sure yours has been quite the same.:o) But today will be somewhat different. I plan to take this day simply to relax. With a pretty butterfly punch in hand and some very pretty paper, the morning will be spent creating a mobile to hang in the window of my room. Nothing fancy, just a string of pretty butterflies all in a row:o) In the mist of the busy that this season brings, remember to relax and enjoy a few moments of quiet time. Take care my friends. Christmas Cheer!

Hello to each and everyone of you! Only a few days left till Christmas! Honey and I have been doing a little decorating and I wanted to share a few photos with you. This is our first year having an artificial Christmas tree. I tell you these trees have most certainly changed over the years and for the better I must say.:o) This one is beautiful, look so very real and came with lights! I love the smell of pine and knew that would be lacking with this tree so I made sure I had plenty of candles in a beautiful Christmas fragrance called "Christmas Wreath". It smells sooooo good and just what I needed!:o) We have not wrapped gifts as of yet, but will start to do so this coming weekend hopefully.

It is something so special about pulling out those ornaments each year and adding them to the tree. Each holds so many wonderful memories. This pretty ornament is new to the tree this year.:o) It is so pretty and the price was so right, only $2.00 for all this sparkle. I decided five was in order at this price.:o)

The beautiful poinsettia was my dear sweet Mother's favorite flower. Each Christmas my Dad would filled the house for Mom with beautiful poinsettias. Did they fool you, these are not real live poinsettias but they too are beautiful! I think Mother would have certainly approved of these.:o)

You may remember this chubby little snowman who has joined us for Christmas for many years now and Christmas just would not be complete without him. You cannot see it in this photo but he has on big black snow boots and big feet too.:o)

The new ornament came in two styles, this one has little jewels all around it. It is sitting right next to chubby snowman.

The camera did not pick up just how beautiful these fruit ornaments really are. They are some of my favorites for sure. Well my friends I will most certainly be back to share more with you in the coming days as we continue to prepare for Christmas. Enjoy as you prepare your home and your heart for Christmas.

Wanted to take a few moments to wish each of you a beautiful week. It is rainy, chilly and the winds are blowing. I pulled out my throw, lit candles and listen to the pitter patter of rain throughout the day while going about my work, quite wonderful I must say.:o) I love this time of year as so many of you do.

Looking A Lot Like Christmas!

Oh my that time has finally come! Like so many of you I so enjoy Christmas! A time when we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I am so excited about our Saviour! He has so beautified my life.... As my Dear Sweet Mother would often say "If I had ten thousand tongues it still would not be enough to tell of His goodness". Oh how I miss my sweet Mother so. She also loved Christmas and looked forward to driving the city looking for the prettiest lighted house.:o) What must it be like to be in His presence as my sweet Mother is. Joy unspeakable joy and full of glory!!:o)

The coming weeks will be quite busy in the studio with knitting, cardmaking and more. By the way, I have some new jewelry designs to share with you I think you will love!:o) I will post them in a few days. For those of you who love to shop handmade don't wait too long to make your purchases.
