An Apple A Day!

Hello to you! I must say I feel refreshed and ready to go! It is amazing what just a few days of relaxing can do for a girl's spirit! :o) No, I am in no way rushing the last weeks of summer, but I found these lovely pieces of fruit that so remind me of Autumn! I just could not resist these lovelies! The green apple above is actually a candle! See its little wick on top! It is a set of four, a granny smith apple, a beautiful orange, a lovely pear, and a red delicious! I think what I loved so much about these were the fact they look so real. I do not think I will be lighting these, they are just for show! While browsing around in one of my favorite craft stores I ran across a little box of Autumn fruit, oh my how pretty they were and the price just right! Our favorite stores waste no time in getting us ready for the soon coming next season! :o)

You have to admit, even in the mist of Summer these beautiful Autumn colors are simply irresistible and oh so beautiful! The pretty solid pear in the upper right hand corner is actually a candle! I guess you can tell I am pretty excited about my little finds!! :o)

A few post ago I mentioned a little Etsy news I wanted to share with all of you! Well look forward to my next post for it, and a sweet little giveaway! I love giveaways, and I have a little something special in mind I think all of you will enjoy! You know as you have heard me say so many times before....happiness is not always in those big things, but many times it is the small things that bring us so much joy! I can truly say I found great joy in the beauty of these little pieces of fruit....I surely did! What small little treasure did you find recently that made you smile? Wishing each of you a fabulous week!

You shall go out with joy
and be led out with peace;
the mountains and the hills
shall break forth into singing before you,
and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

Isaiah 55:12

Smiles...

Beverly

All of your fruit finds look very real. And, you've given me a great idea. I have a Longaberger medium wreath basket (I sell Longaberger) in the middle of my dining room table with a candle and hurricane globe in the center of it. I change what I put inside the circular basket depending on the season. I need something for fall so I think I'm going to go look for some of that fruit, and some fall leaves. Thanks for the idea.

Ohh, those fruit are very nice...they are so realistic! I collect fruit shaped items of ceramic, including napkin rings shown in a recent post on a birthday dinner for my brother.

Hi Beverly,

I absolutely love the fruit pics. I love fall, too! The sights, sounds and smells of fall are all my favorites.

I'd have to say that the small little treasures I've found recently are a glass casserole dish and a set of teeny, tiny shelves...see the 1st 2 pix in this post on my blog ~

There are just sooo many little treasures Tom and I have found when out hunting for them!

The nights are getting cooler here in PA and it is making me think Fall, as well. The fruit photos are lovely.

We sang that verse for closing at church on Sunday. All the Trees of the Field will clap their hands...what a word picture...

I love the fruit candles. They look so real. Autumn is a long way off here in S.California.

I have been looking at some new pieces to add to my fall decorations. Fall will come one day.. The nights are getting cooler...so that's a good sign.

I so enjoy coming here and looking at all your pretty things. O ordered the One Skein book yesterday after seeing yours a few posts back! Can't wait to get it.

I hope your day is blessed,

What a beautiful post! It really is lovely to look at.

I ran across a new site that is starting up. They are looking for vendors right now. They have not officially opened their doors. Read this post from Jill and Bailiwick to get the overview. http://bailiwickdesigns.typepad.com/my_weblog/2008/08/something-new.html?cid=127193714#comments

I thought that maybe you might like to check it out...

Also, Corey at Tongue in Cheek (France) wrote a neat little perspective on eating any apple. http://willows95988.typepad.com/tongue_cheek/2008/08/the-truth-about-an-apple-day-1.html

I wouldn't burn the candle either! What are the fruits in the basket made of? Wood? Are they heavy?

I love all the crisp colors of fall...and those fruit finds are some of my favorite colors. I have a red and a green apple that are candles, too...and I've NEVER been able to light them...I love them in the state they are. I can't wait for fall...it energizes me and just makes me feel so happy!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such a sweet message...I am so terribly behind on my blogging...too much to do...too little time to do what I love...and that's checking in with all my blogging pals.

Blessings...
Teresa

HI Nan!

I am not sure what the fruit are made of, but they are fairly light with just the right amount of weight of real fruit! The candles are a wee bit heavy, the wax of course, and that is great it seems to give them more balance.

Great find to stumble on your blog. I was just telling my husband today that I can't wait to see fall in our new surroundings. We drive up a gravel road with a canopy of various tree's to reach our home. The apples make me think of a trip to the orchard or pumpkin patch....just a couple more months and counting until autumn is in full swing for me.

Beautiful photos Bevery! We have been noticing, whilst driving in the countryside the beautiful wooden crates of apples ripening on the roadside for people to buy, Autumn is on its way!
