Taking a Look Back!

Hello! Well the start of a brand new week is just about here! My weekend has been wonderful, lots of crafting.....lots of fun! Visiting many of your lovely blogs, I have so enjoyed the vintage photos many of you have been sharing! Photos of family, vintage cars, the old homes you grew up in and pictures of many of you as kids! Thank you all for sharing your beautiful vintage photos, and inspiring so many of us to do the same! Looking through these old photos brought back so many fond memories and smiles, I hope you enjoy them!

This is my dear sweet Mother in her twenties! For many years this photo sat in the display window of the tiny little studio where this picture was taken! Oh this was a proud moment for us kids having our beautiful Mom's picture in the window! :o)

Mom and me sitting on the right, with my sweet aunt and uncle and two cousins! It is so hard to believe I was ever that small!

My sweet Mother and her brother as teenagers! My uncle Thomas, and what a sweet uncle he is! Check out her Mary Janes and capri pants!

Me and Mom.....that's the advantage of being the first born, you get to take lots of pictures with mom alone! Dad was away in the Army when this photo was taken. I was told that was my uncle Thomas helping with the beautiful flag!

Oh my, this is one of my favorite photos! Look at these wonderful clothes! That is my Mother standing in the middle along with her girl friends! I love the shoes and sweet little hand bags they are holding!

This is Mom again! A smiling teen, I believe high school! Oh how I see my little sister Donna in this beautiful photo!

Me at age twelve! Now what is with the hair do! This photo is not very clear, and it looks like my hair is a little light at the top but it is black! Mom would have had a fit if I tried to color it!! :o)

All these old photos bring back so many memories! I must do this again sometimes! You all have a beautiful week.....

Smiles....

Beverly

I put your blog in a new Blogger link that lets me know when you have posted something new. It's a very nice feature. I'm not doing this with all of my blog links: just those that I must know the latest on.

Ah, how I love old family photos. I told you before that I could look at them for hours. What a rich heritage you have!

I have thin, fine blond hair, but I do have lots of it. It's not easy working with it sometimes. However, I have not envied my black friends and the rigors they go through to manage their hair.

When I'm around the children of my black friends at church, I do so love running my fingers through their hair. When left natural, it is the softest, sweetest hair to touch!

I giggled at your comment about your hairstyle in the younger photo. It does look like you had spent a little too much time in a chlorine pool. Hee hee. But your face is gorgeous!

Hugs, KJ

Oh Karen you are the sweetest! I love these old photos too! I even have one of my Grand Mother as a small child being held by her parents! Her Mom is wearing high button shoes, a lovely long button down skirt....such a beautiful photo! I feel so honored to have that photo, the only photo I have of my great grand parents! It was found after my grand mother passed away some years back and passed on to me by a very sweet cousin! So glad you enjoyed the photos!

Beverly, I really enjoyed looking at your photos! I love to look at my own family photos and remember the stories my mother told me, so I can appreciate what a special time it is.

The dresses were so pretty, and even in capris & Mary Janes, girls looked like girls...am I showing my age?*Ü*

I even have some "family" photos that I bought from a box in the antique store. I couldn't stand that such beautiful people were without a family. I brought them home and they're going on my family wall. I'll give them names & stories to match. Silly, I know. Just couldn't leave them in the box...

Thanks for sharing your sweet family with us!

Oh, Beverly! I have so enjoyed looking at your family photos! Thank you for sharing! I say this with great sincerity: your Mother was a beautiful woman, you can see it in her eyes...beauty inside and out. And you my dear sweet friend, are gorgeous! You come from good stock, as evidenced by all your family pictures. Isn't it wonderful looking back at the styles of bygone eras? It's absolutely fascinating to me. I so love the styles of the 40's and 50's!

Have a wonderful week Beverly!

I loved the photos, as well!

It is so fun and special to look back over the years and see the history unfolding.

The things you never really notice when you are in the midst of it...styles, extended family, just life.

Photos are a very good thing!

Thanks for sharing.

These are beautiful photos, hmmm scrapbooking time. Don't you just love scrapbooking? Whenever I would visit my Grandmother, I would head for the drawer where she kept all of her old photo. I looked at them forever, and now I have a few of them and they are my cherished possession. I took a look at your etsy shop, you have so much grace in your designs. Have a wonderful day. Blessings, Karen

Lovely photographs Beverly. How nice to be able to look back on so many happy times together.

Thank you for your kind words on my blog ~ I am trying to remember the goodness in most people I come across in this world and not let the acts of certain individuals cloud my judgement.

Hi Beverly,
I loved the photo tour of your family. They are beautiful and your mama was such a sweet looking teenager. Your young self looks like your shiny black hair reflected the light creating the light effect. Think of it has a halo. Most youngsters need built in halos, as they don't always manage to keep them on straight LOL. Your mom , her friends and your aunts could be my mom and her family. Lots of smiling young women in beutiful dresses, nice handbags, and shoes just so. I love that era and how they dressed. I often wonder if our generation when viewed in photos as adults, will present the same gental image. Thanks for sharing.

I love your family photos, aren't they just the most precious things to have. We all have memories, but seeing the faces of those we love the most, in the happiest of times keeps those memories alive. Thanks for sharing your family with us.

Oh, like Mother, like daughter, both so beautiful. What I noticed about your photo's is that girls wore dresses much more then than they do now. I miss that. Thanks for sharing your memories.

Sweet Beverly, thank you so much for checking in with me. All is pretty much well, just a few challenges over the last month :)

Thank you so much for sharing your photos! I really enjoy looking at those "vintage" shots. This has inspired me to have Chris scan some photos of my grandparents to share.

Hope that you're well, and can't wait to browse around your shop.

I love your family photos. I recently started a blog just for my mama's photos and stories that she told. This post of yours reminds me of that. Aren't we glad photography was invented?
