Raindrops Keep Falling.....

Oh my goodness the rain is falling! The wind is blowing and it is quite chilly! It started on Friday and wow did it rain, and I must say I enjoyed it!! It is slowing a bit, but a few showers did fall this morning. I even had to pull out an extra blanket! As I sit here I can see a little sun peeking through the clouds with its clear blue skies.....so beautiful!

I must say a few words here about Blogger! :o( What is going on with it! I understand they have done a few updates and that is good, but there are a few bugs that need to be worked out. I cannot upload pictures within text, it all goes kind of crazy deleting words. I am at my rose end! I love adding multiple pictures as I usually do, but it has been nothing but grief for me. So I have been adding one photo not to upset it.....I am not happy with that! I think I will be going to Wordpress. Anyone know anything about them? I just want to make sure all my data is transferred properly. Any help would be very much appreciated, I am thinking of making the move quite soon! :o)

During Christmas there was a lot more going on besides Santa trying to fit through the chimney tops! :o) I received three awards! Precious Marcela awarded me with the Friendship Button, a lovely award and oh so pretty in pink and dainty hearts! She also awarded me with the Blog del Dia! I also received Your Blog Is A Treasure Award from the lovely Manuela! Sweet Marie on last week awarded Tea Time with the Inspiring Blog Award. Thank you so much, you three ladies are a true treasure, and I thank you so much for thinking of Tea Time and feel so honored to receive all these beautiful awards....thank you. To see these awards scroll to the bottom right! :o)

Each of you enjoy your week!

The Lord will guide you continually,
and satisfy your soul in drought,
and strengthen your bones;
you shall be like a watered garden,
and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.

Isaiah 58:11 (NKJV)

Smiles....

Hi Beverly,

Congratulations on your many awards ~ they are richly deserved.

I am also at the end of my patience with Blogger. I have had so many problems loading photos of late that I created a Wordpress, but lost my nerve when it came to moving in case I lost my blog! I would be interested in sharing any information that your readers come up with.

I wasn't sure about the tiny text box for typing and I had a few problems when I tried to load photos, so it put me off, but I think that I may be forced to make that move.

I was thinking about you at the weekend when I heard about the awful storms that hit California. It sounds very wet, but not snowy where you are. I think that you should make the most of it and enjoy being cosy at home with your extra blanket.

Have a wonderful week.

Congratulations Beverly on your awards. Your blog is the loveliest.
I have blogs on both Wordpress and Blogger. I love the dashboard on Wordpress, which gives you lots of tracking information, and I love that flickr toys lets me create a header for Wordpress. I have also had problems with blogger, but I love the format.
I have my devotional and my children stories on Wordpress and my daily blog and sketchbook are on blogger. I found two great resources for you. http://lorelle.wordpress.com hosts a how to for wordpress which is totally helpful.

I read that there are some problems sometimes when you transfer to wordpress. Here is a link on tips before you try to transfer your blog.

Hope this helps.

Hello Beverly thanks for stopping by to wish us a Happy New Year, we've finally got around to posting again. As you know we blog using Typepad so I can't help you re Blogger. But I have to say that the way they have changed the comment facility makes it very tricky for non Blogger / Google account holders to comment. Okay it should be easy to open an account, afterall they are free but we have done this on several occasions and then when we go to use it again the password is invalid. So we have resorted to commenting anonymously which is less than satisfactory!
Anyway enough of that.
Happy New Year to you and your family may 2008 bring you all that you hope for.

Oh just read Marie's comment, we tried a Wordpress blog which we quickly abandoned as loading photographs is a bit of a problem, they need to be reduced in size using some other program. You don't have to do that with Typepad or I believe Blogger.

Congratulations on the awards, Beverly--so well deservered for you are a sweet spot in the blogging community! :o) Sorry the rain continues..Hope you're keeping, dry, warm and happy. Hope Blogger sorts itself out too. I've been with Typepad for well over a year and am very happy there. I've not experience with making a change to another blgo server, but I know many who have left Blogger and went over to Wordpress and are very happy with their moves. Keep us posted on what you decide to do. Happy week ((HUGS))

Wow! You've been receiving bundles of affirmation and affection! Yea! It's not difficult to see why. This truly is a precious little retreat!

On Blogger... I have encountered several situations. In the "create a post" box I have had things freeze up on me (with nothing else affected in my browser.) I have to save and then go into my post edit area to bring it back up. My pictures are loading fine; however, sometimes I will format everything and publish, only to find out that the results on the blog don't match what was saved. Thus, I have to go back and re-edit.

My biggest issue is with the the fonts and color in the "template" formatting. I have to do it blindly now because my blog page loads and then most of it disappears. And, it no longer "previews" any of my selections. Everything used to work fine, so I don't know what went askew.

I am going to contact Blogger and let them know before I make any changes. Usually, they are pretty quick to respond.

Good Mornin' Beverly,
Thank you for noticing my knitting needles on my blog! Yes, the two sets in the picture are Rosewood. I felt as though they were an investment when I bought them, but they are quite nice. I have sizes #8 & #11. The #11s are a bit heavy, so any that I might acquire in the future will be smaller sizes. Go ahead and treat yourself to a pair (or two..smiles:)you will love them!!:)

...have to tell you,though... it never works for me!

Hey Beverly, congrats on the many awards! And oh no, blogger problems are pretty rampant these days. Do drop by as I've written a small guide on how to migrate to WP. May I also suggest to play around with WP first, create some posts and see if you like it.
Have a good weekend.
