A Tiny Peek.....

A big hello to each of you... I hope the weekend brought nothing but smiles to you and your families. Mine was a great one, lots of little things to attend to... You know those not so big chores, but they must be taken care of... All in all it was a most wonderful, quiet and pretty restful weekend.

What do you think of this sweet wall paper border I found! I have been out looking for fabulous vintage finds, and I must say I have done pretty well with this border... It was enough to make beautiful scrolls tied with a ribbon and accented with a beautiful shell button... Perfect for collage art, carding making, and pretty enough to frame. There are four beautiful images... I also have some vintage sewing notions, embroidery threads in beautiful cherry, rose and a soft gold color... I guess you can tell I am pretty excited! I really am! Just two weeks till the shop opens!

You know, the older I get the more I am learning about me...but that is how it should be right! I have been doing a little more rushing around the last couple of weeks and working longer hours than usual, not too many more but longer... I just felt a little uneasy....so I sat quietly for a few moments on yesterday evening to do a little listening. I do not do well when my "activities of daily living" are not balanced... Too much work not enough rest... Too much food not enough movement... Too much noise not enough quiet moments... Too much chatter not enough listening... So I think I will pamper myself a bit this week! Take a few more quiet tea breaks, listen to my favorite music, enjoy a wonderful movie, eat light and healthful, listen more intently, move more, and I might even make an on-line purchase of something pretty! LOL! What do you have planned for this week...

Laugh a little...sing a little
As you go your way!
Work a little...play a little
Do this everyday!

Jo Petty

Have a most wonderful week....

Beverly

I am with with it is so hard just being a woman and trying to be there for everyone who needs us. I found that when I take the time to read my Bible more my days seem to work out so much better. I love your wall paper border, it's so much fun going on the hunt! I am sorry if I missed this post of yours but are you opening up a shop? I would love to visit. How is your neighborhood after all the fires? God Bless and enjoy your peaceful time.

Wonderful paper rolls--embellished so pretty! And just love the paper! Having a good chat with one's self now and then is a good thing...it helps you know what sometime is off kilter and you need to refocus, find the balance again. You do sound very busy...but don't forget yourself in between all you must do. "ME" time is important too. Can't wait for shop open in 2 weeks--hooray! Happy week to you, my friend ((HUGS))

I can't wait for the opening day!

And it's great to know that you have taken the time to rest, relax and reflect. I need to remind myself to do that too. :-)

What a charming border! Love how you put the button on the ribbon to tie it. That's such a lovely little touch!

I'm the same way, I have to balance my days "on the go" with days "at home" etc.

Can't wait for the big opening day!

Hi Beverley
Nice to hear from you and thank you for you comment on the blog. I think handmade items are lovely to received (regardless of what it is be it a cake or card or lavender bag etc). But I often wondered if other people do. So it is nice to know others think the same. Love the paper will keep my eye open for your shop to see what goodies you have. Take care

Hi Beverly,

I think that you hit the nail on the head when you said that you don't do well when your activities of daily living are out of balance. This seems to be my problem at the moment too ~ I had to drop my fitness class last week to be at the market every day, so now my back pain has flared and I can't sleep ~ it really is a vicious circle. Take good care of yourself and take the time you need to achieve a balance in life.

Hi Beverly,
The wallpaper border is precious! It reminds me of things I saw as a child..a loooonnnnggg time ago. :)

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

It seems Blogger is allowing me to post comments today, so I'll include that I have tried all week to leave comments but at a few blogs that I visit, including yours, would not take my comment, returning my efforts with an error message..the woes and pros of blogging, I guess.

Totally love the vintage wall paper. Try and get a little rest, we all need balance in our lives. But, it's very hard to achieve. There is so much that needs to be done and it all needs to be done today!

Hello Beverly!

What a stirring post! It certainly speaks to me and to goals that turning my focus to! It is so easy to upset the fragile balance of living and listening to our bodies– and to God!

The wallpaper is darling! I have seen the illustration of the little girl having her timeout with her fur friend. It is too precious!

I am excited for you shop opening! It's so close!

Hugs, KJ

Hi Beverly - I have found you via 'Ragged Roses' and wanted to say hello!
The beautiful post that you have written here has got me thinking - thank you for that - I have been working so hard this year that I actually feel quite tearful for all the quiet moments that I have missed. Time for a life change I think.....

Good luck with your new shop - but don't let it take over your life (honestly, take it from me!)

The border is a delight - I have never seen one like this before.

Have a restful weekend!
Niki.

Such pretty wallpaper! I so look forward to the opening of your shop!

I can totally relate to what you have said in this post. I've definitely done too much eating, not enough movement this past week! And I don't know why! It's not even Thanksgiving yet! Just wait till all the yummy holiday food finds its way to my plate! lol

Hi Beverly!

Thanks for the post about Norman Rockwell. I have always been a fan of his work! He captured human nature so perfectly, as well as an era!

Yes, I did get my pie. Yum! And, our Thanksgiving in Long Beach was very relaxed and fun! We had quite a few teenagers over because my niece and nephew brought their friends. Add to that, my own 13-year old son. We are going back for leftovers today!

Have a wonderful day! I am off to Miss Shabby's Online Boutique. I was kind of hoping that you were going to be offering some items! I have secretly admired so many of your creations!

Oh happy day!
