Spending Time with daughter.....

Hello to all of you... Hope your week is just beautiful thus far, as for mine it is going just wonderful. Yesterday was a pretty somber day for Honey and I... The tragedy of September 11 2001 is still so fresh in our minds, and leaves so many of us with a heavy heart... Thank you to those of you who left your sentiments on yesterday, such beautiful words....

This will not be a long post today.... My sweet daughter and I will be spending the entire day together! I am so excited she works so many hours and this is a rare treat for us... We had a quiet breakfast together this morning while watching the sparrows right outside the window enjoy their breakfast... Days like these I treasure...time spent with those you love.

Well you know lately the knitting bug has bitten me, and so many of you too! I wanted to share with you a few things I have been working on including a new pincushion for me I needed so badly.... I told Honey sometimes I feel like the hair dresser who does everybody's hair but her own! I have been sticking pins everywhere but in a pincushion! So I made myself this one and it really is for me. I also made a little embroidered bag filled with lavender and it smells so good...

I love the knitting pattern I am working with, it is a simple but beautiful pattern. I cannot wait till the scarf is finished. Here is a close up of my little lavender flowers, I guess my embroidery is getting better... Well I guess I will go now, daughter and I are looking forward to a fun filled day!

Practice Wonderment

Oh, for the wonder that
bubbles into my soul.

Have a lovely day all of you....

Your handwork is beautiful on the bag and pincushion!

My whole family and I are avid birders; and no better company for watching them than with family.

Hope your day with your daughter was the best ever.:)

Beverly, that bag is just lovely. My mom would really appreciate it, seeing how much she loves lavender. I'm so glad that you got to spend some time with your daughter- I always look forward to getting to hang out with my mom. I try to spend at least one weekend a month with my parents... it's not enough, though!

Hugs,
Kimberley

Every time I read Romantic Homes, I am reminded of your blog-- and often I lay the magazine down to come and look... And, I am never disappointed at the celebration of life and beauty that takes place here daily!

On my blog, I loved your take on the bug in the tree! I somehow would not be shocked to read the children's book from which it originated to find out that the story was just as hopeful!

Also, I have never asked you-- but do you sell your beautiful creations? If so, where?

Hugfully,
KJ

I feel a sense of calm when I visit your blog - does that sound crazy? Anyway it is a pleasure for me.

The pincushion is so sweet and your embroidery is just lovely.

How nice for you to have a day with your daughter - I hope you both enjoyed your day.

We have been remembering 9/11 too in the UK - it is a terrible tragedy that the world will never get over. I can remember the shock on the day and we visited Boston the week after and there were USA flags everywhere. The Bostonians were so welcoming and were so pleased we decided to continue with the trip.

Thank you for visiting my blog - I appreciate all your comments.

Take care and love.

To spend the whole day with your daughter is a wonderful thing. I love being able to do that with mine. Your embroidery is beautiful and so is the pincushion you made for yourself.

Hope you had a great day with your daughter--such precious time! Your new handmade treasures are gorgeous! Good for you for treating yourself to a pin cushion! ;o) Your embroidery becomes more excellent by the project. I can almost smell the lavender...And I adore that scraf. Would share that pattern with me, please? I love that open, lace-like effect it has. It's such a treat to visit here! Happy weekend to you & yours ((HUGS))
